Editing and archiving zones
Change a zone's coverage safely, and understand what happens to slots already booked when you do.
Editing coverage
You can widen or narrow a zone’s coverage at any time from SlotSmith → Zones → [zone name] → Edit. Widening coverage takes effect immediately for new bookings. Narrowing coverage does not cancel existing bookings outside the new boundary — SlotSmith flags them for review instead of silently dropping them.
Renaming a zone
Renaming is safe and has no effect on existing bookings or generated slots — the zone name is display-only.
Archiving a zone
Archiving unpublishes a zone and stops new slot generation, but keeps historical booking data intact for reporting. Archived zones can be restored at any time from Zones → Archived.
Deleting a zone
Deletion is permanent and only allowed for zones with zero bookings, past or future. If a zone has any booking history, archive it instead.
